Devree's MRI Markers Before Surgery

Devree's MRI Markers

This picture shows the MRI Markers that Devree had placed on her head after her MRI.

We have arrived successfully at the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital. It is part of the Stanford Medial Center in Palo. There is a link below that shows the facility.

They have recently opened a new pediatric brain surgery facility called Ford Family Surgery Center.

The Ford Family Surgery Center is a state-of-the-art surgical facility designed specifically for children. As of its December 2008 opening, it is the only children’s hospital surgical facility on the West Coast whose entire surgical suite features the latest technology.

Our doctor is Michael S. B. Edwards, M.D. and his information is shown in the link below.

Today Devree is having two high quality MRI’s done of her brain, and one of her spine. It is standard procedure to check for tumors along the whole neural system.

We won’t know if the tumor is cancerous until after it is removed.

There should not be any short term or long term memory loss when operating on this area of the brain. However, it is possible to have temporary side effects after working with the brain.

We will keep you posted as we learn more.
